multiplying decimals

We say that the decimal numbers are the numbers which can be expressed in the form of whole part and the decimal part. So we say  the difference  between the place  value of  the whole part and the decimal part is as follows :  Place value of the whole part is  written as H T O and the place value after decimal is written as tenth ( 1/10),  hundredth ( 1/100), thousandth ( 1/1000) etc.
Now we will learn about Multiplying Decimals. When we start with Multiplying Decimals with  a whole number, then we will forget the decimal point from the number and then multiply the  two numbers as simple numbers. After this we will  check how many digits are there in the  decimal  part and then we leave that number of places from the right side and place the decimal point  in the product of the two numbers and get the result.
In case a decimal number is multiplied by 10, the decimal will shift to one place right and we get the result. In case of Multiplying Decimals with 100, the decimal point shift to the right by 2 places.  In the same way, if the decimal number is multiplied by 1 / 10, then the decimal point shifts to left by one place and we get the result of multiplication of a decimal number by 1/10.
Now we look at multiplying a decimal number with a decimal number. For this we  simply multiply the two numbers without considering a decimal and then place the decimal point at the place which counts the total decimal places of the two numbers. To know more about the Derivatives of Trig Functions we can take online help of the math tutors. CBSE Imp Questions are also available online on the CBSE site, which help the students to prepare for their exams. IN the next session we will discuss about How to Add Binary Numbers.
