Is zero an Even Number

In the previous post we have discussed about Numbers for Kids and In today's session we are going to discuss about Is zero an Even Number. In mathematics, zero is a cardinal number. In figure it is written as ‘0’. Zero is defined as the integer or real number in mathematics. Even number is defined as the number which is divisible by 2 and remains zero as a remainder i.e. 2, 4, 6…... Odd number is defined as the number which leaves a remainder when divided by 2 i.e. 1, 3, 5….. Now the question arises that is zero an even number? The answer is yes, zero is an even number. There are several ways to prove that zero is an even number:
1. As the definition of even number says that the number which is divisible by 2 and remains zero as a remainder. So, if you will divide zero by 2 it will leave zero as a remainder. That’s why zero is an even number. 0/2 = 0 i.e. it satisfies the definition of even number.
2. Addition rule states that zero is an even number. When even number is added to even then it gives even number as a result and when odd number is added to odd number then it gives even number. When even number is added to odd number then it gives odd number.
In short, Addition rule states that:
                Even + even = even.
                 Odd + odd = even.
                Even + odd = odd.
According to this rule zero is an even number.
3. Number sequence: in number sequence, each integer differs by 1 and each consecutive integer changes from odd to even and even to odd. So, zero is an even number.
At last it is proved that zero is an even number. Beta Distribution is a measure of the movement in price of a security relative to stock market and is well discussed in Maharashtra state board syllabus.
